Thigh Lift Beverly Hills

Medial thigh lift is a surgery designed to improve the contour of the inner aspect of the thighs. The combination of excess fat and loss of skin elasticity with aging results in loose skin on the inner thighs. After weight loss surgery, there is excess skin everywhere on the body including the inner thighs. Sagging skin on the thighs can be noticeable and quite embarrassing. Thigh lift surgery removes the excess skin.

The type of surgery is dependent on the amount of excess skin present on the inner thighs. If you have a small amount of excess skin limited to the upper third of the inner thigh, a limited incision can be hidden in the groin. Patients who have undergone weight loss surgery are typically left with excess skin on the entire extent of the inner thigh. Massive weight loss patients may require a longer incision that extends from the groin to the knee. The groin incision may also extend into the abdominoplasty scar when there is a lot of excess skin on the front of the thighs from weight loss. Liposuction of the inner thighs and knees is often performed at the same time to improve the overall contour.

Surgery is performed on an outpatient basis. Compression garments are worn for six weeks after surgery, to control the swelling and improve the final contour. Risks of surgery include bleeding, infection, delayed wound healing, fluid collections, blood clots, and scar widening. Thigh lift scars tend to stay red and thick for several months after surgery before they flatten and the redness disappears. Aggressive scar care therapy will be used to help improve the quality of the scars. Risks are often dependent on your current medical condition. During your consultation, we will discuss your specific risks of surgery.
